Main features

How they work

They work by means of light, elastic forces that act primarily on the oral musculature, i.e. the muscles of the face, tongue, lips and cheeks, and they have a positive effect on breathing. The straightening of the teeth is a consequence of restoring the balance of muscle function.

Three-dimensional action

Unlike traditional orthodontic appliances, which focus only on the teeth, AMCOP bio-activators act simultaneously on the skeletal bases, the teeth and the patient’s posture, with the aim of systemic correction.

Materials and types

AMCOP appliances, manufactured by Micerium, can be prefabricated or individually made (custom-made after a careful assessment of the patient). There are various versions (e.g. "Blu", "Open", "Integral Plus") depending on specific clinical needs.

Use

They are often used in growing patients for the early correction of malocclusions and functional disorders such as deep bite or laterodeviation (sideways deviation) of the lower jaw. Use at home is simplified and usually requires wearing the appliance for a few hours during the day and throughout the night.
